Strong earthquake jolts Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Islamabad, Peshawar and several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experienced strong earthquake tremors, sending people rushing out of their homes while reciting prayers.
According to the seismological center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. The tremors were felt at a depth of 198 kilometers.
Residents in Peshawar and surrounding areas, including Swat, Swabi, Nowshera, Dir, Lower Dir, Chitral, Shangla, Rustam, Takht Bhai, Batkhela, Attock, Kamra, Hazro, Malakand, Khyber, and Buner, also reported experiencing the quake.
The federal capital, Islamabad, along with Nathia Gali and nearby regions, also felt the tremors. Panic spread as people evacuated their homes, offices, and shops in fear.

Seismologists confirmed that the earthquake’s epicenter was in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region, with a recorded depth of 198 kilometers. Authorities have not yet reported any casualties or damages.
