YouTube introduces invigorating AI tool to create custom background music
YouTube has launched an innovative new feature powered by artificial intelligence (AI), allowing users to generate custom instrumental background music for their videos.
This new feature has been added to the “Creator Music” platform — YouTube’s commercial music licensing system introduced in 2023. The goal of the platform is to help creators find suitable music for their videos while better understanding any licensing costs involved.
According to YouTube, users can now access a new “Music Assistant” tab, where they can describe the kind of music they need by typing instructions into a text box. They can specify details like preferred instruments, mood, or the nature of the video.
For those unsure how to write their prompts, YouTube offers pre-written suggestions to guide them. The AI tool then analyzes the input and generates a new, unique, and tailored music track that can be easily downloaded and used in videos.

One of the standout benefits of this tool is that the generated music is free and copyright-safe, eliminating concerns about intellectual property violations. Currently, the feature is being rolled out to a limited number of users in the United States, with plans to expand its availability to other countries soon.
