The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has announced a severe heat wave is expected to hit the province.

Alerts have been issued to relevant departments to prepare for the rising temperatures, beginning April 13.

Temperatures in Southern Punjab may soar up to 8 degrees above normal, while Upper Punjab could see temperatures exceeding normal levels by as much as 6 degrees between April 14 and 18.

The Director General of PDMA has also noted that warmer temperatures are anticipated during the night. The intense heat raises concerns about the potential for dusty winds and storms.

Residents of Lahore, especially children, women, and the elderly, are advised to take precautions. They should avoid unnecessary outdoor activities in the sun and ensure they stay hydrated.
