Punjab bans temporary mechanical swings during Eid for public safety
The Punjab government has banned the installation of temporary mechanical swings during Eid-ul-Fitr, citing public safety concerns. A directive has been issued to all deputy commissioners to enforce the ban across the province.
Eid festivities and amusement arrangements
With large crowds expected at recreational spots, citizens will be heading to sports fields, gaming zones, and amusement rides for entertainment. However, while temporary swings are prohibited, mechanical rides installed permanently in theme parks and play areas will be allowed under strict conditions.
Fitness certification mandatory for permanent swings
Authorities have made it compulsory for all permanent amusement rides to obtain a fitness certificate. Additionally, deputy commissioners must verify that safety inspections and regulatory standards are met before granting operation approval.
24/7 control room set up for monitoring
To ensure public safety and enforcement of government orders, the Punjab Home Department has established a central control room that will operate round-the-clock, compiling reports from across the province. Senior officials will oversee the implementation of security measures throughout the Eid holidays.
