In the coastal city of Hurghada, Egypt, six people have been killed in a tourist submarine sinking, while nine others have been injured.

According to local authorities, there were 45 foreign tourists aboard the submarine, 29 of whom have been safely rescued by the rescue teams.

A statement issued by the Red Sea Governorate stated that the submarine was traveling near a beach in a tourist recreational area. However, the reasons for its sinking have not been immediately determined.

However, the Russian embassy in Egypt has stated that all the tourists aboard the submarine that sank near Hurghada were Russian citizens.

Important information about the automatic safety system of missing submarine has been revealed

In a statement released on Facebook, the embassy confirmed that the submarine had 45 passengers aboard, including children.

According to the embassy, the incident occurred at around 10 a.m. local time, approximately one kilometer from the shore.

The Sindbad submarine, which sank on Thursday in the Red Sea, had been used for years for tourist excursions at the famous Hurghada resort. Passengers aboard the submarine in the past included members of the YouTube channel “Williams Street Family Diaries,” who shared a video five months ago showing the interior of the submarine.

In the video, passengers can be seen sitting on seats on either side of a long cabin, watching underwater views through large round windows. One shot shows fish swimming close to the glass, while in the cockpit, two crew members are seen controlling the submarine, with a clear view of the ocean in front, surrounded by various switches and monitors.

The Sindbad submarine provided tourists with a three-hour underwater tour, allowing them to view the beautiful coral reefs of the Red Sea.

This submarine had been operating near Hurghada, a popular tourist destination for British, German, and other international visitors.
