Train services in Balochistan, suspended for 16 days, have finally resumed. The Jaffar Express, which was targeted in a recent terrorist attack in Bolan, departed from Peshawar Cantt Railway Station on its way to Quetta.

Federal Minister Amir Muqam bid farewell to the train’s passengers and offered prayers for their safe journey.

Aboard the Jaffar Express are 280 passengers, with 28 individuals traveling from Peshawar to Quetta. The train is scheduled to return to Peshawar from Quetta on Friday.

The Jaffar Express has been decorated with the national flag, colorful banners, and balloons. Railway officials reported that 280 passengers had made reservations for the journey, which will lead the train through Punjab and then Sindh before entering Balochistan.

After a 34-hour journey, the train is expected to arrive in Quetta by 5pm tomorrow. According to railway officials, the Jaffar Express is the only train that traverses all four provinces, offering essential service to passengers.

In a media address while sending off the Jaffar Express, Federal Minister Amir Muqam stated that the government will not allow the terrorists’ plans to succeed.

He emphasized that efforts to impede Balochistan’s development have failed, and both the Prime Minister and the Army Chief are committed to national security.

Muqam noted that the departure of the Jaffar Express was a positive development, although he criticized provincial leaders for not participating in good initiatives, and accused them of being focused solely on “capturing Islamabad” for the past 12 years.
