PECA case filed against shopkeeper after video of car being towed from no-parking zone goes viral
A case has been registered in Rawalpindi under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, marking the second such instance in the city.
The complaint was filed by Traffic Warden Imran Sikandar at Cantt Police Station.
According to the case details, the accused recorded a video of a car being towed for illegal parking and shared it on social media.
Authorities stated that the vehicle was legally ticketed for being parked in a no-parking zone.

The FIR mentions that the car was parked outside a shop, and the shop owner filmed the incident.
The footage was allegedly shared to incite public resentment against the traffic police.
Officials claim the act constitutes an offence under Section 21 (1)(d) of PECA 2016, which deals with online harassment and the deliberate spread of misinformation.
Police have launched further investigations into the matter.
