Former Pashto singer Shaz Khan recently shared a deeply moving incident about his spiritual awakening, touching the hearts of many.

Once a renowned Pashto singer, he has now transitioned from the world of music to becoming a devoted Naat reciter.

During a special appearance on a Ramazan transmission, Shaz Khan opened up about his journey of transformation.

Host Umar Shehzad asked him whether his initial Naat recitation received the same admiration as his songs.

In response, Shaz Khan shared that he belonged to a religious family, with his father being a distinguished Islamic scholar, Sheikh-ul-Quran.

He recounted that his hit song “Karara Rasha”, released in 2011, brought him immense fame. However, in 2014, his life took a dramatic turn, leading him away from music.

Sharing the pivotal moment, Shaz Khan revealed that he was scheduled for a show in Dubai.

Afterward, he planned to fly directly to Peshawar to reunite with his children. Following his return from Dubai, he stayed near Malir, Karachi, for a short rest.

He explained that after staying up all night, most people either put their phones on silent mode or switch them off.

That morning, he received several missed calls from a producer in Peshawar.

When he finally checked his messages, he read a shocking text stating that their mutual friend, Asad, had passed away.

Asad, a film and drama editor, had also been Shaz Khan’s roommate in Peshawar.

Shaken by the news, Shaz Khan said he was overcome with fear.

“Just yesterday, he was with me in Peshawar, with no idea that he would soon be in his grave. How would he answer the three questions in his grave?”

This thought deeply disturbed him. Overwhelmed, he immediately told his hairdresser to trim his beard and then turned to Allah in repentance, vowing never to return to his past life.

He soon embarked on Umrah to seek further spiritual guidance.

However, upon returning from Umrah, he decided to call his late friend’s father to offer condolences.

To his shock, the friend himself answered the call, greeting him as if nothing had happened. Bewildered, Shaz Khan said, “But you… you passed away!” To which his friend laughed and admitted, “We were just playing a prank on you!”

The prank, though unintentional, became a turning point in Shaz Khan’s life, leading him to embrace a new path devoted to faith and spirituality.
