The original Moana, with 1.4 billion hours streamed, remains the most-watched film on Disney+ since the platform launched in 2019.
Initially planned as a Disney+ series, Moana 2 was released in theaters on November 28 and went on to gross over $1 billion globally.
Directed by Dana Ledoux Miller, David G. Derrick Jr., and Jason Hand, the sequel features music by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, taking over from Lin-Manuel Miranda, who composed the songs for the first film.
The cast also includes Nicole Scherzinger, Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda, Rose Matafeo, Temuera Morrison, David Fane, and Hualālai Chung.
