President Asif Ali Zardari arrives in Lahore; authorities remove welcome banners
Ahead of President Asif Ali Zardari’s arrival in Lahore, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) removed all welcome banners displayed in the city.
According to PPP leader Faisal Mir, banners put up on Jail Road and Gulberg Main Boulevard to welcome the president were taken down before his arrival.
He alleged that PHA officials acted aggressively towards party workers, even confiscating their mobile phones.
Sources confirmed that President Zardari arrived in Lahore late at night and is expected to stay for two days.

On Sunday, he was scheduled to attend an Iftar dinner at Nawab Shehzad’s residence in Model Town.
Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider and other key leaders are also expected to join the event.
During the visit, the Punjab leadership will present a detailed report to the president regarding the coordination committee’s activities.
It is worth noting that this marks Zardari’s second visit to Lahore in recent weeks, with his last trip taking place on February 27.
