Former Prime Minister and Awam Pakistan Party chief Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has stated that PTI is free to launch its movement, but he does not support any such campaign.

He criticised both the government and opposition for failing to fulfill their responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi claimed that during PTI’s tenure, the prime minister did not attend national security meetings.

Speaking on Aaj News’ programme “Rubaroo” with host Shaukat Piracha, Abbasi remarked that passing 100 resolutions would not resolve Balochistan’s issues.

He argued that the province’s problems could not be addressed through resolutions alone.

He pointed out that elections have been conducted in Balochistan, yet the current government does not truly represent the people.

He dismissed the effectiveness of an All Parties Conference (APC), emphasising the need to understand why individuals turn to militancy.

Abbasi stressed the importance of addressing the grievances of Baloch youth, listening to their concerns, and providing them with employment opportunities. He warned that some are being manipulated by anti-state elements.

He reiterated that PTI has the right to launch its movement, but he does not support any such campaign. He lamented that both the government and opposition are failing in their duties and that imprisoning prime ministers has become the norm.

He also criticised PTI’s approach, stating that if the party continues its previous stance, all efforts will be futile.

Abbasi accused PTI of adopting an undemocratic and non-parliamentary attitude and urged the party to act as a responsible opposition.

He also defended Maulana Fazlur Rehman, dismissing criticism against him. He questioned the state of democracy in the country when the opposition is not even allowed to speak.

Commenting on the state of politics, he remarked that it has turned into a game of hatred. He asserted that terrorism cannot be countered with force alone but requires national unity.

Faisal Karim Kundi criticises PTI

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, also speaking on “Rubaroo”, accused PTI of being indifferent to Pakistan’s security.

He alleged that during PTI’s tenure, the prime minister did not attend national security meetings. He further criticised PTI for its actions, stating that the party alternates between inciting incidents like May 9 and writing letters to the IMF.

Kundi claimed that PTI released terrorists during its rule and never convened an APC for peace efforts. He noted that when he called an APC, PTI refused to participate, highlighting internal factionalism within the party.

He also took aim at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, stating that he has never visited the families of martyrs.

He questioned who should be held accountable for the security situation in Bannu and Kurram, reminding that after constitutional amendments, maintaining law and order is now the province’s responsibility.
