The United States and China have strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.

In a statement, the US embassy strongly denounced the hostage-taking of passengers and reaffirmed its commitment to standing with Pakistan.

The US had officially designated the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) as a global terrorist organisation.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the victims and their families. The US remains a strong partner of Pakistan,” the statement read.

The embassy further emphasised its solidarity with Pakistan, saying, “We stand with Pakistan in this difficult time.”

China opposes terrorism in all forms

Separately, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning denounced the train hijacking carried out by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), emphasising that China opposes terrorism in all forms.

She stated that China would continue to support Pakistan’s efforts in counterterrorism, regional stability, and public safety.

Mao Ning further stressed China’s firm stance against terrorism and its readiness to enhance security cooperation in counterterrorism efforts.

The attack, which took place in Dhadar, Balochistan, saw BLA militants hijack the Jaffar Express.

Security forces have confirmed that all terrorists involved in the attack have been neutralised and that all hostages have been rescued. Officials are still assessing the number of civilian casualties.

According to security sources, the operation was conducted with extreme precision, as the attackers had used passengers as human shields.

“The safety of innocent lives was our priority,” an official stated.

Earlier, authorities rescued 190 passengers, ensuring their safety. The operation successfully eliminated all terrorists while minimising further loss of life.
