Two police officers martyred in Bajaur shooting

Two police officers were martyred after unidentified gunmen opened fire in the Bajaur district, located in the Malakand Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The attack took place in the Tarkho area of Mamund Tehsil, where armed assailants targeted the officers. The martyred personnel have been identified as Shahid and Aman.

Police officials confirmed that the bodies were transferred to the hospital for post-mortem examination. The attackers fled the scene after the shooting, and an investigation has been launched.

Funeral prayers in Kohat

In a separate incident, funeral prayers for two police officers martyred in Kohat were offered at the Police Lines with full state honours.

The bodies were later sent to their ancestral villages. The funeral was attended by Additional IG CTD Shaukat Abbas, DIG Kohat Abbas Majeed Marwat, DPO Kohat Dr Zahidullah Khan, and Deputy Commissioner Kohat Abdul Akram, along with military and civil officials and the families of the martyrs.

CTD police officers ASI Mustafa and Head Constable Zahid, who were on duty in Kohat, were targeted by terrorists while riding a motorcycle on Tanda Road earlier in the morning.
