During the meeting, uniformed police officers — who were part of the gang — would stage a raid, assault the victim, and rob them.
The seven-member gang included two police officers and a female polio worker. Police recovered explicit videos of several victims from the suspects’ mobile phones.
Authorities confirmed that the gang would threaten to leak these videos online if the victims refused to pay. So far, over 50 individuals have fallen prey to this scam.
