‘Spider-Man’ robber caught in Karachi after daring escape attempt
Karachi witnessed a real-life action scene when a robber, attempting to flee after snatching a mobile phone from a biker in Sakhi Hassan, resorted to an unusual escape tactic.
Trying to evade the police, he climbed onto the Green Line station tower and swung from overhead wires before making a dramatic leap onto a cloth sheet held by officers and bystanders.
The bizarre chase unfolded as the suspect, instead of surrendering, scaled the Green Line bridge and clung to electrical wires in a desperate bid to escape.
However, he was eventually caught when police and citizens positioned a sheet beneath him, bringing his movie-like stunt to an abrupt end.
The robber claimed, “I am not a thief or a criminal. I fell while trying to avoid an approaching vehicle. People mistook me for a robber and attacked me. Out of fear, I climbed the tower and then attempted to escape by hanging onto the wires.”
