Lahore street artist arrested for alleged begging
In Lahore’s Gulberg area, a street artist named Mohammed, aged 30, was arrested by traffic police on charges of begging.
Mohammed, a resident of Bund Road and father of two, paints his body and clothes in a golden colour, posing as a human statue to entertain passersby.
He asserts that he does not solicit money; instead, people voluntarily offer him tips for his performances.
Mohammed expressed his frustration, stating, “This is an art form practiced worldwide. The traffic police do not understand the difference between art and begging. I stand at the roadside to entertain people.”
