CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz orders strict crackdown to curb inflation
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered a comprehensive and effective crackdown across the province to control inflation and curb profiteering.
During a special meeting chaired by Maryam Nawaz, all commissioners and deputy commissioners participated via video link.
She instructed them to launch a vigorous campaign against price gouging, ensuring strict enforcement of government rates.
She also directed that official price lists be prominently displayed and that the supply and demand of essential food items be closely monitored to prevent hoarding.

The chief minister ordered Punjab’s chief secretary to personally oversee the anti-profiteering and anti-hoarding drive.
She further mandated the submission of a daily report on the prices of essential goods, emphasising that food prices and quality must be maintained at all costs.
Additionally, she directed the Food Authority to conduct crackdowns to ensure the quality of food products.
