Judicial Commission approves four additional judges for Lahore High Court
The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, has approved the appointment of four additional judges to the Lahore High Court (LHC).
The newly appointed judges include Raja Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Tariq Bajwa, Ubhair Gul, and Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh. They have been appointed for a one-year term as additional judges.
During the meeting, the commission reviewed the names of eight session judges for appointment. The shortlisted candidates included Qaiser Nazir Butt, Akmal Khan, Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, Jazeera Aslam, Tariq Mehmood Bajwa, Shahida Saeed, and Akbar Gul Khan.
According to sources, Raja Ghazanfar Ali Khan secured 14 votes, Ubhair Gul Khan received 11 votes, Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh got 10 votes, and Tariq Mehmood Bajwa obtained 12 votes.

Additionally, the commission expanded the constitutional bench, adding Justice Hashim Kakar, Justice Aamer Farooq, Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, Justice Salahuddin Panhwar, and Justice Shakeel Ahmed.
