Barrister Gohar: All parties must unite for the country and democracy
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has emphasised the need for all political parties to unite for the sake of the country and democracy.
Speaking on Aaj TV’s programme “News Insight with Ameer Zia”, he asserted that the military leadership has not discussed politics with PTI and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to electoral transparency.
Gohar criticised the government, claiming it lacks merit and is afraid of PTI.
He said, “We want to ensure elections are never stolen again. PTI secured 30 million votes, and we believe that whoever the people elect should govern the country.”

PTI not in contact with establishment, says Gohar He further predicted that party founder Imran Khan would be released from prison this year.
He also revealed that PTI is working to form a political alliance before Ramazan.
However, he clarified that Maulana Fazlur Rehman is not yet part of their coalition.
“We are in talks with all opposition parties, despite existing differences among some of them,” he added.
Gohar accused the government of suppressing PTI’s political activities while continuing its own rallies. He expressed hopes for an All Parties Conference, insisting that political unity is essential for democratic stability.
Referring to PTI’s legal battle, Gohar said, “We filed 74 petitions regarding electoral fraud, but the decisions are still pending. We will reach out to all political factions, including Mahrooq Baloch and Manzoor Pashteen, to build consensus.” On the topic of security, he clarified that the recent meeting with the Army Chief was solely focused on law and order.
Addressing Punjab’s political landscape, he claimed that the provincial government lacks public support.
“A government that people did not elect cannot win their hearts,” he remarked.
Taking a jab at PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, Gohar challenged her to assess her public reception.
“Only a government backed by the people can make tough decisions. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s wealth is fleeing abroad, and these illegitimate rulers are pretending everything is fine,” he said.
