PTI parliamentarians to write to Imran Khan against Barrister Gohar

The members reportedly accuse Barrister Gohar of disregarding party interests

Members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party are set to write a letter to former Prime Minister Imran Khan expressing their concerns about the party chairman, Barrister Gohar. Sources within the party reveal that several parliamentarians have decided to address their grievances directly to Imran Khan, citing a series of decisions made by Barrister Gohar that they believe are detrimental to the party’s interests.

The memberss reportedly accuse Barrister Gohar of disregarding party interests and failing to consult with parliamentary leaders on key decisions. Specific instances cited include the opposition to a bill proposing free healthcare services, introduced by PTI MNA Dr Amjad Khan.

Despite Dr Amjad Khan’s efforts to garner support for the bill, including reaching out to opposition leaders like Asifa Bhutto Zardari, Barrister Gohar allegedly opposed it. Dr Amjad Khan also attempted to pass similar resolutions in the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.

Further fueling the discontent, MNA Changiz Khan Kakar also expressed reservations about Barrister Gohar’s actions, claiming that the party chairman opposed his bill regarding the establishment of a high court in Faisalabad. Both Dr Amjad Khan and Kakar allege a pattern of Barrister Gohar opposing bills proposed by fellow PTI members. Their letter to Imran Khan will highlight this lack of consultation and alleged disregard for party members’ initiatives.

While Dr Amjad Khan declined to comment publicly, stating that the matter is an internal party affair, Kakar downplayed the situation, suggesting a misunderstanding regarding one specific bill has been resolved. However, the planned letter to Imran Khan indicates significant internal dissent within the PTI’s parliamentary ranks concerning the leadership of Barrister Gohar.
