Ramazan is expected to begin on March 1 in Pakistan, depending on the sighting of the crescent moon, reports said. If the moon is not visible on February 28, the start date may shift to March 2 this year.

In Germany, the holy month is expected to start around Friday and end around March 30. This year, there could be long fasting hours, lasting 17 to 18 hours, making iftar a much-anticipated event.

Cities like Frankfurt and Cologne hold traditions like street iftars and community gatherings at mosques. The Sehitlik Mosque and the Berlin Mosque are popular places for Taraweeh prayers.

But Morocco takes a “stricter approach,” requiring a clear sighting of the crescent moon with the naked eye.

Experts stated that the crescent moon is unlikely to be visible in Morocco on February 28, which means the country is expected to start fasting on March 2.

In the UK, various communities may observe different start dates for Ramazan because of their differing interpretations of moonsighting criteria.

Many Western cities have released their Ramazan 2025 timetable, expecting it to start on March 1, in line with Saudi Arabia’s predictions.

The holy month in the United States is expected to start at sundown on Friday, February 28.

International Astronomical Centre in Abu Dhabi Chairman Mohammad Odeh stated that the crescent moon would be visible on February 28 using telescopes in West Asia, much of Africa, and southern Europe. Many areas in the Americas might also see it with the naked eye.
