Which procedures will be covered under Punjab Chief Minister’s Transplant Programme?
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has introduced the ‘Punjab Chief Minister Transplant Programme.’.
The program would provide five major transplant procedures—liver, kidney, bone marrow, cornea, and cochlear implants—free of charge to eligible patients.
The cochlear implants would be offered to young children with hearing impairments.
Patients can register through the Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority, with procedures available at both government and select private hospitals.
To assist the public in accessing information, the Punjab government has established a toll-free helpline at 09009 0800.

“The state recognizes the needs of every citizen, and we will fulfil our responsibility,” Punjab CM Maryam said.
She added: “Organ transplantation is a complex and expensive process that many cannot afford and assured the public that the government will cover all costs associated with liver and kidney transplants, alleviating any financial burden on patients.”
