Pakistan overtakes India as Indonesia’s top meat supplier
In a major boost for Pakistan’s meat industry, Indonesia has prioritised Pakistani buffalo meat over Indian beef due to its lower cost and increasing global recognition.
The decision marks a significant shift in Indonesia’s import preferences, enhancing Pakistan’s export potential.
The National Food Agency of Indonesia has confirmed plans to import 100,000 metric tonnes of buffalo meat from Pakistan.
This move aligns with Indonesia’s broader target of importing 180,000 metric tonnes of beef and 100,000 metric tonnes of buffalo meat this year.
