Uzma Bukhari: Who will forgive those who betray Pakistan?
Punjab’s Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has criticised the founder of PTI, stating that he seeks dialogue with the establishment despite past actions.
In an interview with Aaj News, she accused him of using foreign influence against Pakistan, referencing his appeals to the IMF and US Congress members.
She questioned, “Who will forgive those who work against Pakistan?”
Bukhari insisted that the PTI founder must apologize to the nation. She also stated that if Sindh improves its transport and sanitation system, it would be a welcome development, emphasizing that the Sehwan accident should not have been politicized.
She claimed that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is seen as a leader who resolves public issues, making people reluctant to consider other parties.

Addressing allegations, Bukhari noted that the same individuals criticising Maryam Nawaz have themselves sent letters to international organisations, and PTI is expected to send another soon.
Highlighting Punjab’s governance, she asserted that Maryam Nawaz only announces projects after ensuring their execution.
She added that Punjab’s services, such as waste management and free medicines, benefit all citizens, including PTI supporters.
Bukhari criticised the over-reliance on overseas social media users, stating that they do not vote in Pakistan but influence local narratives.
She asserted that the Punjab government’s digital media wing is focused on countering misinformation without resorting to propaganda.
Regarding PTI’s tactics, Bukhari accused the party of spreading chaos and misleading the youth.
She stressed the need for a counter-narrative and stated that Maryam Nawaz is best suited to expose PTI’s “true face.”
She also condemned attempts to politicize Punjab’s development, saying that Sindh’s ministers unfairly target Punjab. Defending Punjab’s self-funded projects, she argued that the province is not dependent on federal funds.
Joint press conference with Zeeshan Rafiq
During a joint press conference with Punjab’s Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafiq, Bukhari stated that, unlike other governments, the PML-N has successfully delivered results within a year.
She challenged other provinces to compete in governance rather than resorting to personal attacks.
Bukhari emphasised that Punjab’s initiatives, such as the “Clean Punjab” project, are benefiting all citizens.
Rafiq added that Punjab’s master plans are nearing approval, ensuring modern sanitation and sewage systems across the province.
Both ministers reiterated their commitment to public service, promising that Punjab’s progress will continue in the coming year.
