Uzma Bukhari slams Sindh government over Karachi road accidents
Punjab’s Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has hit back at Sindh government spokespersons, questioning whether the frequent deaths caused by reckless dumper trucks in Karachi are also a federal issue.
She criticised the Sindh government, stating that accidents occurring in Karachi should not be blamed on the federal administration.
“The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has ruled Sindh for the past 16 years, not the PML-N. When there is real progress, the work speaks for itself — just as Maryam Nawaz’s work is doing,” she added.
Referring to Sindh’s development budget, Bukhari remarked, “May Allah make it happen that the recently approved Rs956 billion development budget is actually spent. The financial year is ending, yet the CM Sindh hasn’t even been able to fix streets in his own province.”

She further accused the Sindh government of failing to construct proper roads and highways despite receiving its due share of federal funds every year.
“If you still can’t build roads with billions in funds, then you are beyond saving,” she stated.
Defending Punjab’s progress, the PML-N leader highlighted that 90 per ce nt of the province’s projects are funded independently.
“What does the relationship between an uncle and niece have to do with federal-provincial matters? Why even bring it up? Maryam Nawaz has already completed several major roads in Punjab using provincial resources,” she asserted.
Bukhari also took a swipe at the Sindh government’s growing number of spokespersons.
“The CM Sindh should brief his newly appointed 100 spokespersons on ground realities. These inexperienced spokespersons just parrot whatever false narratives they are given. When performance speaks for itself, there’s no need for a whole army of spokespersons,” she said.
