Terror attack foiled in Quetta: Two police officers martyred in gunfight
Security forces successfully thwarted a major terror attack in the suburban area of Shaban, Quetta, in a fierce gun battle that left two police officers martyred and one injured.
Meanwhile, in another incident in Kechi Baig Sikandarabad, an alleged suicide bomber was killed in a premature explosion before reaching his target.
According to police reports, terrorists armed with heavy weaponry planned a large-scale attack, but the swift and courageous response from security personnel averted a potential disaster.
The martyred officers have been identified as Constable Muhammad Ramzan and Constable Shams-ul-Islam, while the injured officer, Asif Raza, is receiving medical treatment.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend any remaining militants.
Officials praised the fallen officers’ bravery, emphasising their sacrifice as a testament to their unwavering commitment to national security.
In a separate incident, a suspected suicide bomber detonated prematurely in Kechi Baig Sikandarabad before reaching the intended target.
Authorities believe the individual was en route to carrying out a terror attack when the explosive device went off unexpectedly.
Following the blast, police, security agencies, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and bomb disposal squads arrived at the scene, collecting evidence for further investigation.
The remains of the alleged suicide bomber have been sent for DNA testing and identification through the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
Security measures have been heightened across Quetta in response to these incidents, as authorities continue their efforts to dismantle terrorist networks operating in the region.
Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind these coordinated acts of violence.
The attacks highlight the persistent security challenges in Balochistan, where law enforcement remains a frequent target of insurgent and militant activities.
