PPP leader calls for closure of tea hotels in Defence and Clifton by midnight
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Najmi Alam has written a letter to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Deputy Commissioner South Karachi, recommending that tea hotels in the Defence and Clifton areas be closed by midnight.
In his letter, Alam stated that these tea hotels have become safe havens for criminal elements. He also raised concerns over reports of drug dealing at tea hotels in Clifton Block 2, urging authorities to take immediate action.
According to the letter, residents are increasingly distressed by tea hotels operating throughout the night, with loud music becoming a persistent issue in Defence and Clifton.

Alam has also requested the Deputy Commissioner South to set fixed operating hours for these establishments.
A copy of the letter has been sent to the CM Sindh and the Commissioner Karachi for further action.
