Three police officers suspended for ‘negligence’ in Mustafa murder case
At least three police officers were suspended from their duty on Saturday for their apparent negligence in the Mustafa murder case.
Amir, a Karachi resident, went missing on January 6, according to the police. His charred body was found in a car in Balochistan, they told reporters in a press conference on Friday.
Police added that they got to know about the death after a suspect made a shocking confession to them during the investigation.
As the story unfolds, investigators said on Saturday that the conflict leading to the missing person’s death arose from a dispute involving a girl.
According to police, Darakhshan Police Station SHO Abdul Rasheed Pathan, along with Investigation Officer Zulfiqar and ASI Iftikhar Ali, has been suspended because of their “negligence and incompetence in the case of Mustafa Amir” who was allegedly kidnapped and murdered.
Inspector Iftikhar Arain from the Sahil Police Station has been given temporary charge of the Darakhshan SHO position.
Earlier in the day, an anti-terrorism court in Karachi sent a suspect to police custody on physical remand till February 21 on Saturday.

When the police sought remand of the suspect in the hearing, the court asked the accused if he had been beaten. Shiraz stated that he “had not been harmed” by the police.
The court inquired about the charges of abduction and murder against him. The accused said that Mustafa Amir had come to Armaghan’s house in the defence area, where they got into a fight, leading to an altercation. After the altercation, he added that they assaulted Amir and took him to Hub in his car.
The court sought a progress report from police on the case for the next hearing.
