The father of the Mustafa murder case’s prime suspect has defended his son’s gun battle with the police, denying that his son was allegedly running an illegal business inside the high technology room of the house.

“On the record, I want to say this for the final time what I am hearing that my son runs a call centre and blah, blah. He runs a software house where you can make apps. You can also design a country’s whole system in such a facility,” Kamran Asghar Qureshi told Aaj News.

“It can be worth $1 trillion. If I have designed a system, will I allow someone to take it? All the integrated laptops…”

When asked about his son’s exchange of fire with the police, Qureshi said: “He fought for justice. He did the right thing. What else should he do? Will I ask the police to provide me with security? Are we nuts? What kind of people are we? Until we stop bribing, there is a philosophy behind this, but people will have to rise.”

Amir, a Karachi resident, went missing on January 6, according to the police. His charred body was found in a car in Balochistan, they told reporters in a press conference on Friday.

Police added that they got to know about the death after a suspect made a shocking confession to them during the investigation.

As the story unfolded, investigators said on Saturday that the conflict leading to the missing person’s death arose from a dispute involving a girl.

He expressed concerns over the victim’s mother in light of the rumours circulating about the case.

While quoting his son, Qureshi alleged that the victim “used to sell 250 grams dope” to his son for Rs500,000. He substantiated his claim by saying that the victim’s father was in customs. He claimed that “this particular drug is a designer substance that can lead to schizophrenia and multiple personality disorders.”

He said: “They [Mustafa and Armaghan] used to party.” But Qureshi denied that the two were childhood friends.

“I did a background check on Amir’s father. I get to know that he works in customs and he has a complaint filed against him for importing and exporting drugs.”

Recently, Aaj News went inside the house of Armaghan showcasing electronic gates which were operated by mobile phones, a walkthrough gate on the first floor and modern security cameras.

A string of shocking criminal activities exposed that Armaghan was a seasoned offender involved in extortion, kidnapping, drug dealing, and illegal possession of weapons.

In 2019, Customs authorities filed two cases against him for smuggling illegal substances. Though arrested, he served just one year in prison before being released.

His criminal record worsened in 2023 when he opened fire on a civilian named Riaz over a simple case of overtaking on the road.

The raid uncovered a shocking arsenal, over 3,000 rounds of ammunition, sniper rifles, and 14 types of sophisticated firearms.

The victim’s mother has accused the authorities of a cover-up and demanded justice. She raised serious questions about the “mysterious disappearance of a black, unregistered vehicle allegedly used in the crime.”

Police investigations revealed that another suspect, Shiraz, worked for Armaghan and was involved in the planning and concealment of the murder on Saturday.
