South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron found dead at her home

South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron, known for her role in the 2023 Netflix series “Bloodhounds,” was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on Sunday.

The 24-year-old was discovered by a friend who was scheduled to meet her.

The tragic news follows Kim’s withdrawal from the public eye after a recent drunk-driving incident, Yonhap News Agency reported.

“We have not found any signs of foul play as of yet, but we are investigating the circumstances of the death,” police said.

According to the South China Morning Post, Kim Sae-ron stepped back from her acting career following a drunk driving incident in May 2022, when she crashed her car into a roadside electrical transformer box.

The report stated that she was fined 20 million Korean won (approximately Rs3,857,658) for the incident, which led to significant public humiliation and pushed her out of the spotlight. This included her decision to withdraw from her role in the drama series “Trolley.”

According to Yonhap, Kim Sae-ron tried to make a comeback in acting last year but ultimately stepped back again due to health concerns.

Throughout her career, she received numerous awards, including recognition as “Best New Actress” at various Korean arts awards, as noted on her IMDb page.
