Indian actress Deepika Padukone is reportedly continuing to film her upcoming sci-fi action film Raaka despite being in the third trimester of her pregnancy, as she works to complete her portions before taking maternity leave.

According to Indian media reports, the actress, who is expecting her second child with husband Ranveer Singh, has been shooting night schedules and performing physically demanding action sequences for the film, which also stars Allu Arjun.

Backed by Sun Pictures and directed by Atlee, Raaka is being billed as a large-scale sci-fi action spectacle and is among the most anticipated Indian films slated for release in 2027.

Reports suggest Padukone is balancing the film’s demanding production schedule while preparing to welcome her second child and caring for her first.

In addition to Raaka, she is also set to appear alongside Shah Rukh Khan in King.

This is not the first time the actress has worked through pregnancy.

During her first pregnancy, she reportedly filmed action-heavy sequences for Kalki 2898 AD and Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again.

Padukone recently made headlines after suggesting an eight-hour workday on film sets, a stance that reportedly led to her departure from Kalki 2, according to media reports.

The filmmakers said at the time that they were unable to reach an agreement with the actress over the project’s requirements, though Padukone has not publicly commented on the reasons for her departure.

She later joined Shah Rukh Khan’s King and Atlee’s Raaka, and in a social media post announcing King, she praised Shah Rukh Khan for teaching her that the experience of making a film and the people involved matter more than its commercial success.
