Sindh minister calls for Covid-19 like social distancing over influenza
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has issued a warning about the global spread of influenza, including in Pakistan, urging the public to take necessary precautions for their safety.
In a press conference held on Saturday, Memon highlighted the importance of maintaining social distancing, akin to the measures taken during the COVID-19 pandemic, and encouraged citizens to wear masks to mitigate the transmission of the virus.
In light of growing health concerns, the Sindh Health Department has released an advisory concerning the H1N1 virus.
This advisory calls for enhanced surveillance in various districts across the province, including Karachi, and requires all hospitals to promptly report any suspected or confirmed cases.
The health advisory mandates that personal protective equipment (PPE) be supplied to staff at government hospitals, and all hospitals must submit weekly reports to effectively monitor the situation.
These initiatives are aimed at controlling the outbreak and ensuring the safety of the public.
