A gang war threat has been neutralized in Lahore as rival factions led by Qaiser Butt and the Gogi and Teefi Butt groups have reached a peace agreement.

A provincial minister, Sohail Shaukat Butt, from Lahore played a crucial role in the negotiations.

Sources indicated that a peace ceremony took place at the residence of Teefi Butt.

This truce was followed by the public murder of the brother-in-law of Khawaja Tareef alias Teefi Butt, Muhammad Javed Butt, in which Qaiser was named a suspect alongside the Ameer Balaj brothers in the FIR related to the case.

The FIR regarding Javed Butt’s murder implicated Amir Balaj’s brothers, along with Qaiser Butt, known for his close ties to the Truckan Wala gang.

Gogi and Teefi Butt gang suspected that Qaiser helped Tipu Truckanwala gang in Javed’s murder. However, a few days after his murder, Qaiser denied it in a statement.

The gang conflict, which began with the 1994 assassination of alleged Bila Truckan Wala, has already claimed three leaders from the Truckan Wala family and Javed from the Teefi Butt family.

Both groups have historically engaged in violent confrontations, resulting in over 20 casualties, including innocent passersby.
