The Punjab Education Department has announced that the next academic year, with classes for 2025-26, is scheduled to start on April 1.

The annual exams for the current academic year (2024-25) are scheduled to take place from March 10 to March 20 in over 42,000 government schools across Punjab, with more than 6.5 million students expected to participate.

Results are set to be announced in the last week of March. Changes have been made to the examination format for matriculation students.

The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board has updated the marking scheme for Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies, raising their total marks from 50 to 100 each.

According to the new policy, Islamic Studies will be tested in ninth grade, while Pakistan Studies will be evaluated in tenth grade.

The PTBB has already published new textbooks according to the updated syllabus and initiated the printing process.
