Viral video: Did Ranveer Allahbadia cry due to ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy
A video has gone viral on social media of Indian Youtuber Ranveer Allahbadia crying over the recent backlash due to his comments on the comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent.
The video showed Allahbadia crying to the camera and lamenting about all the lost work. But the video was three-year-old and has been re-shared on social media, connecting the recent controversy.
The clip was about when Allahbadia had tested positive for the coronavirus back then.
He said, “Hi guys, I just tested positive for Covid.”
India’s Got Latent gets cancelled
On Wednesday, the Vishva Hindu Parishad announced that India’s Got Latent’s upcoming performances in Gujarat have been cancelled.
The VHP noted that tickets for Raina’s shows planned for April were no longer available for purchase on the online platform.
In a statement, VHP regional secretary Ashvin Patel stated that the organisers chose to cancel such shows due to the controversy.
Raina was slated to perform four shows in three Gujarat cities, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, and Surat.
Allahbadia’s breakup rumours
Allahbadia’s rumoured girlfriend Nikki Sharma shared a cryptic post on Instagram about “rejecting negative energy.” It has added fuel to the rumours of their breakup.
“Your body doesn’t just reject food; it also rejects energy. If your body starts rejecting certain places, people, or things, trust it and listen,” one post said.
Both Sharma and Allahbadia have unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Samay Raina deletes all videos
Raina has announced that he has removed all episodes of his show from his YouTube channel after backlash stemming from “indecent jokes.”
“Everything that has been happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel,” he said in a social media post.
“My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you (sic).”
Allahbadia apologised
On Monday, Allahbadia apologised, admitting to a “lapse of judgment.” In his video apology, the YouTuber acknowledged that “comedy is not my forte.”

The FIR identified Indian influencers Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, and other participants from the show, including Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Mukhija, for allegedly making inappropriate and offensive comments on the show.
The case has been filed in several cities, including Mumbai and Guwahati, and accuses them of promoting content that purportedly offends public sentiments.
Authorities have begun an investigation, and legal experts warn that the case could “establish a precedent for regulating online content in India.”
