Karachi’s weather to take new turn today, PMD says

The city is ranked seventh among the world's most polluted cities

Karachi is expected to experience a change in weather conditions starting today, with a rise in nighttime temperatures, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The PMD predicts nighttime temperatures will range from 14 to 16 degrees Celsius. Daytime highs are forecast to reach 30 degrees Celsius.

Currently, the city is experiencing cold, dry weather with a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius. Winds are blowing from the northeast at 11 kilometers per hour, with humidity at 50 percent.

However, despite the warming trend, air quality remains a significant concern. According to the Air Quality Index (AQI), Karachi’s air quality is currently unhealthy.

The city is ranked seventh among the world’s most polluted cities, with particulate matter (PM2.5) levels reaching 178.
