Crocodile farming begins in Pakistan to boost leather industry, tourism
Crocodile farming has been launched in Jacobabad, one of the hottest districts in Sindh, Pakistan, aimed at enhancing the leather industry and promoting tourism.
A local landowner has initiated the unique venture at Bhambhore Farmhouse, where such reptiles now thrive in an environment that mimics their natural habitat of swamps and ponds, local reports said.
The farm owner revealed that it took approximately five years for crocodiles to mature, reaching lengths of up to 21 feet and weighing nearly one ton.
Their skins are highly sought after for luxury leather products and the owner was committed to raising them according to international standards.

At least 10 crocodiles have been imported and he was hopeful that their population would grow rapidly once they start laying eggs.
