Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday stressed the need to uphold ceasefire commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and avoid any actions that could further escalate regional tensions.

According to the Foreign Office, Dar discussed the evolving regional situation during a telephone conversation with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister expressed serious concern over continued attacks on his country’s territory and voiced hope that all sides would exercise restraint and fully implement the Islamabad MoU.

He also appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating dialogue and promoting regional peace and stability.

Dar underscored the urgent need for de-escalation, stressing that respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states remained essential for maintaining regional peace and security.
