Petrol prices expected to further increase in Pakistan today
There is a possibility of another increase in the prices of petroleum products in Pakistan, with an expected rise of up to Rs6 per litre on Friday (today), because of rising prices in the global market, reports said.
Petrol might rise by Rs1.24 while diesel could increase by Rs4.49. Light diesel oil might see an increase of Rs5.93 and kerosene could rise by up to Rs5.
The industry has submitted its working estimates to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority regarding petroleum products, which will determine the prices in relation to the global market on January 31.
The new prices will be implemented from February 1 to February 15 as part of the fortnightly revision.
It merits here mentioning that the government increased the prices of petrol and diesel for the second consecutive time on January 15, raising petrol by Rs3.47 and high-speed diesel by Rs2.63 per litre.
After the increase, the price of petrol per litre became Rs256.13 while high-speed diesel reached Rs260.95 per litre.

On January 1, the government also increased petroleum prices under the pretext of welcoming the new year, raising prices by Rs2.96 for the next 15 days.
