PTI extends hand to JUI-F for joint movement against government
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has extended an offer of alliance to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), proposing a joint movement against the current government.
While JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has assured PTI of consultations within his party, the move signals a potential shift in the country’s political landscape.
A PTI delegation, including Senator Kamran Murtaza, Omar Ayub, Asad Qaiser, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Salman Akram Raja, and Akhunzada Hussain, visited Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence on Tuesday. Discussions focused on the current political situation, with PTI inviting Maulana Fazlur Rehman to join their movement for the protection of the Pakistani constitution.
Following the meeting, a joint press conference was held where PTI formally proposed a joint movement against the government. JUI-F responded by assuring PTI that they would consider the proposal.
Senator Kamran Murtaza announced the formation of a two-member committee from both parties to facilitate communication and resolve any misunderstandings.
Salman Akram Raja emphasized the need for all stakeholders to unite for the protection of the constitution, highlighting the promising prospects of collaboration with Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
