A major power outage affected large parts of Karachi after a K-Electric extra-high tension line tripped on Sunday. The incident caused multiple grid stations to trip, resulting in widespread electricity disruption across the city.

Areas affected included Korangi, Lyari, Kharadar, Defence, I.I. Chundrigar Road, PECHS, Saddar, Site Area, North Karachi, and North Nazimabad.

K-Electric issued a statement acknowledging reports of power outages in several areas. The company attributed the disruption to a limited technical fault, claiming that the outage was quickly resolved.

However, a K-Electric spokesperson stated that while power supply has been restored to most of Karachi, full restoration in Lyari and Baldia Town is still underway.
