Atleast nine individuals lost their lives in a devastating accident on the Indus Highway, Karak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, when a speeding trailer ran over pedestrians.

The incident also left 15 others injured, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

Emergency services promptly responded to the scene, with police confirming that the deceased and injured were transported to the DHQ Hospital Karak for medical treatment.

Initial reports suggested that the accident resulted from brake failure in the large 22-wheeler trailer. The uncontrolled vehicle hit several cars before colliding with a passenger flying coach, leading to significant destruction.

KP governor Faisal Karim Kundi has taken notice of the Karak traffic accident, requesting details and issuing directives for providing all possible assistance to the injured.

Another accident occurred in Banda Jalglee, claiming the lives of three people and injuring seven others in Kalan Dhakki Banda Jalglee, Mansehra, on January 8.

Also, at least six people, including women and children, were killed in a car accident in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank on September last year near the Khargai checkpoint on the Waziristan highway allegedly due to speeding.
