Severe cold in Karachi, but no rain in sight
A severe cold wave has swept across Karachi, sending temperatures plummeting into the single digits, forcing residents to stay indoors.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the cold spell will continue for several more days.
Temperatures in Karachi have dropped to between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius, resulting in chilly conditions throughout the day, not just during mornings and evenings.
Director General of the Meteorological Department, Sardar Sarfraz, stated that the cold wave is expected to persist for the coming week, with no rain predicted for Karachi.
He attributed the cold snap to a western disturbance over Balochistan, whose effects are being felt as a cold wave in Karachi. The PMD concurs, forecasting that the cold weather will continue for several more days.
