Overseas Pakistanis file hundreds of applications for sector C-14 plots
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has reported a significant influx of applications for one-kanal plots in Sector C-14, with around 500 submissions from overseas Pakistanis among a total of 1,200 applications.
The deadline for application submissions was December 30, and the CDA plans to allocate 238 plots through an e-balloting process, with each plot priced at Rs60 million.
Sector C-14, located at the foothills of Margalla along the newly constructed Margalla Road, has garnered substantial attention, particularly from expatriates. CDA officials confirmed that overseas applicants will be given priority in the allotment process, while local applicants will be placed on a waiting list. “We have received 500 applications from overseas Pakistanis for 238 plots, and balloting will prioritize them. Most of the plots are likely to be allotted to overseas applicants,” stated a CDA official.
The seriousness of the applicants is underscored by the processing fees: local residents paid approximately Rs13,000, while overseas Pakistanis contributed $50. Following the allocation of plots in Sector C-14, the CDA plans to auction residential plots in other sectors, including I-12 and C-15.
CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa chaired a review meeting on Monday to assess the balloting process. The meeting highlighted the overwhelming response from both overseas and local applicants. Randhawa expressed satisfaction with the progress, announcing that a preliminary list of applicants would be published on the CDA’s website by January 3. Applicants will have two days to raise objections before the final list is finalized.
