Motorists experienced significant traffic congestion across various areas because of protest demonstrations on Tuesday. Clashes were reported in Numaish and Abbas Town.

Police launched a crackdown on protesters after talks with them failed. Supporters of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen have staged a sit-in in at least 13 locations in the city against the recent killings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Parachinar.

Sit-ins for the past four days have caused severe traffic congestion in several areas, however, the religiopolitical party accused the provincial government of blocking roads.

The PPP-ruled government has denied such accusations and claimed that the protesters did not comply with the decision taken on the first round of talks.

On Tuesday, the police launched a crackdown on protesters in the Numaish and Abbas Town areas, with clashes reported between the two sides. Live footage from the area showed policemen firing tear gas shells at protesters and protesters hurling stones at them.

Several vehicles were also torched during the crackdown. Below are the key locations where heavy traffic was reported due to protests.

• Hassan Square, Essa Nagri, Awami Markaz, and Baloch Colony: Heavy traffic has been reported.

• Korangi Expressway, Qayyumabad, and Korangi Nullah: Traffic jams are causing delays.

• Korangi Road, Industrial Area, Stadium Road, and University Road: Increased traffic pressure in these regions.

• Shahrah-e-Faisal, Awami Markaz, Baloch Colony, and Nursery Fine House: Traffic congestion continues to build.

• Surroundings of Numaish Chowrangi: Notable traffic jams are present.

• Gurumandir, MA Jinnah Road, Soldier Bazaar, and Kashmir Road: Significant traffic delays reported.

• Capri Cinema and Sea Breeze Plaza: Vehicles are backed up in these areas. Kharadar, II Chundrigar Road, and Shaheen Complex: Traffic congestion is also evident.

• Aram Bagh, Lighthouse, and Jama Cloth: Increased traffic pressure noted.

• Surjani: Demonstrations are taking place at KDA Chowrangi, Power House, and Five Star intersections.

• Ancholi, Ayesha Manzil, Razviya Chowrangi, Lisbela, and Numaish: Protests are also underway in these areas.

• Tower, Star Gate, Abbas Town, and Abu al-Hasan Isfahani Road: Protest gatherings are reported here as well.

• Meteorological Office, Orangi Town No. 5, and Korangi No. 5: Additional protests are ongoing at these locations.

• Northern Bypass and Qaidabad Murghi Khana: Traffic congestion is increasing due to the protests.

• Further demonstrations are reported at Nagan Chowrangi, Johar Mor, and University Road, adding to the city’s unrest.
