Shark Tank India’s Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta mock Shark Tank Pakistan

Mittal emphasized the importance of regional economic growth

The judges on Shark Tank India, Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta, recently shared their thoughts on the Pakistani version of the business reality show, expressing confusion during an interaction with influencer Sharan Hegde.

Gupta admitted he had only viewed snippets of Shark Tank Pakistan, finding them “interesting,” but both judges criticized a viral moment involving a contestant’s ₹300 crore ask.

“Someone invested some 300 crore in the show. Aisa thodi hota hai yaar (This is not possible),” he added, laughing.

Mittal burst out laughing when he heard the question. “Bhai ho raha kya hai wahan pe? (What is happening there?)” he asked.

Mittal and Gupta highlighted this demand as an example of the show’s absurdity. However, Mittal also emphasized the importance of regional economic growth, stating that for a country to progress and aspire to superpower status, its neighboring countries must also advance. He warned that a lack of economic growth can lead to instability.

“I’ll be honest, I’ve seen some clips and laughed really hard because there are things that are fundamentally technically wrong in terms of the investments and so on,” Mittal said.

“If somebody is not productive, they are creating trouble. This goes for individuals too. Same thing with Pakistan.

“If Pakistan is not productive, it will create trouble. And this trouble we [India] will have to live with. It will slow us down,” explained Anupam Mittal. “So it is in our best interest that Shark Tank Pakistan inspires the entire country and puts them to work in the right direction.”

They were referring to an elderly contestant on Shark Tank Pakistan who recently asked for PKR 300 crore in exchange for 3% equity. This request left the judges of Shark Tank Pakistan bewildered, even as the contestant insisted that the sum should be considered “peanuts” for them.
