The popular business reality show “Shark Tank” is set to debut in Pakistan, aiming to not only boost the country’s economy but also provide a platform for young skilled individuals.

“Shark Tank Pakistan is an internationally acclaimed show. This is a big opportunity for our country and all those entrepreneurs so that they can get funding for their business ideas through our platform,” entrepreneur Aleena Nadeem told reporters at the launch event in Karachi last week.

Through the platform, she said they can get a chance to tell and distribute their products and ideas.

“Shark Tank” is a renowned reality TV show where various entrepreneurs pitch their new business ideas or products to seek investment. Originally aired in the United States, the show has since inspired adaptations in numerous countries.

The show’s purpose is to showcase new business ventures and assist them in becoming successful through investment. The show is particularly beneficial for those looking to start new businesses or interested in entrepreneurship.

Personalities from Pakistan’s business community and entertainment industry, including Zahid Ahmed, Sanam Saeed, Mohib Mirza, Faisal Kapadia, Ali Rehman, Feroze Khan, and Ijaz Aslam, attended the event.

Actress Sanam Saeed was of the view that the show would be beneficial for the country’s economy and provide skilled individuals with a valuable opportunity.

She expressed optimism about the show, stating that it would help discover individuals with unique ideas who wish to start their businesses.

“I hope the businesspersons on the show will give new people a chance,” Sanam said.

Famous actor Mohib Mirza echoed her sentiments, saying he looks forward to seeing those with unique ideas and “the ability to dream” come forward through the show. He added he has avidly watched the American edition of the show.

Mirza emphasized that he frequently sees talented individuals on social media inventing new things, noting that the show would be particularly beneficial for those who possess skills but lack capital.

Actor Ijaz Aslam also commented on the event, highlighting that many young people have the vision and desire to achieve their goals but lack the necessary support.

Mirza went on to add that many prominent figures, such as those from Amazon and Microsoft, started with small startups and have since gained worldwide popularity.

Understanding dynamics of ‘Shark Tank Pakistan’

“Shark Tank Pakistan” is a business reality show that has already aired in neighboring countries like India and Bangladesh before its debut in Pakistan. A similar show, “Idea Croreon Ka,” was previously broadcast on Neo News and received significant acclaim.

In the show, participating entrepreneurs present their business plans or products, detailing the amount of investment they need and the percentage of equity they are willing to offer in return. This format aims to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in the country.

In “Shark Tank Pakistan,” the “sharks” are renowned and successful businessmen or investors interested in funding innovative projects. The show features negotiations between entrepreneurs and the sharks, during which the sharks pose various questions to assess the viability of the proposed ventures.

If the sharks find a project appealing, they extend investment offers to the entrepreneurs, who must then decide whether to accept the proposal. Occasionally, the sharks attempt to negotiate deals with different terms.

The show concludes based on whether the entrepreneurs secure a deal. If a deal is reached, the details are agreed upon later between the two parties, setting the stage for potential collaboration and growth.
