Major gas supply disruptions in Balochistan after SSGC pipeline freezes
The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has reported significant disruptions in gas supply across Balochistan due to freezing temperatures that have caused their pipelines to freeze.
An SSGC spokesperson revealed that the controllers on the eighteen-inch-diameter gas line became frozen due to icing, forcing the pipeline to operate at just 20 PSI instead of the normal 130 PSI.
Technical teams have been actively working on the issue since early morning to restore normal operations.
The areas most affected by the gas supply disruption include parts of Quetta, Nawa Killi, Pishin, Kuchlak, Bostan, and Ziarat.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasted that most districts in Balochistan will continue to experience cold and dry weather. This trend is expected to extend across the country, with Islamabad and its surroundings likely to remain cold and overcast.
