Vawda says PTI’s civil disobedience could be delayed

claims entire PTI working to protect Faiz

Senator Faisal Vawda has stated that he is unsurprised by the potential for a military trial of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, claiming the army typically files charges after gathering all evidence.

He further suggested that planned civil disobedience may be delayed, possibly under the guise of honoring martyrs.

Speaking on Aaj News’ program “Rubaroo” Vawda alleged that some individuals have provided evidence in the form of audio recordings and messages from Imran Khan.

He also claimed that during the Peshawar sit-in, the then Corps Commander General Faiz was present, and that the entire PTI party is working to protect him.

The former federal minister asserted that he was the only person within the PTI who was not under the control of General (retd) Faiz Hameed, implying that if the former DG ISI is spared, others will be as well.

Vawda added that Imran Khan did not self-inflict the injuries he sustained during the assassination attempt. He stated that everyone knows who benefited from the attack on the PTI founder, alleging that one person is in jail while others enjoy the fruits of power.

Vawda criticized the current state of Pakistani politics, stating, “One man is in jail, and the rest are enjoying power. This descent into such a political climate is our misfortune. We need to change our behavior.”

He also expressed support for JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s stance on the madrasa bill, urging Nawaz Sharif to show restraint on the issue.
