Traffic accidents in Karachi claim lives of four, including mother, son
Karachi has witnessed a series of tragic traffic accidents involving towering trailers and dump trucks, resulting in the deaths of four citizens, including a mother and her son.
Incidents occurred in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Qayyumabad, and Sher Shah, with a dump truck overturning on Shahrah-e-Faisal, severely disrupting traffic flow.
In the early morning, a speeding dump truck overturned near the Drug Road U-turn on Shahrah-e-Faisal, causing significant traffic congestion around Millennium Mall and Drug Road.
Fortunately, there were no casualties reported from this incident.
Another accident took place near Jam Sadique Bridge in Qayyumabad, where an 18-year-old motorcyclist, Raj, son of Ashiq, was killed after being struck by a speeding truck.
A 15-year-old named Leon, son of Falak Sher, was injured in the crash. Both individuals were transported to Jinnah Hospital for medical attention.
Additionally, near Meezan Bank on Sher Shah Road, a trailer fatally injured a mother and her son.
The deceased woman was identified as 25-year-old Shabana, while her son’s body was recognized as Zohan. Their remains were sent to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities.
The accident occurred while Shabana was riding a motorcycle with her child and husband.

Police reports indicate that Shabana’s husband was also injured in the collision, and the driver responsible for the trailer fled the scene.
Authorities have since taken the trailer into custody and initiated an investigation.
In a separate incident near Perfume Chowk in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, a motorcyclist lost his life after being hit by a car; however, his identity has not yet been confirmed.
